John was studying to become a Doctor, and from what the family has passed down, had planned on returning to the central Texas area from Galveston, when the 1900 Hurricane hit. No known descendants, as it is generally believed that all members of his family died when the hurricane hit, however; at some point in time, a woman came to Leander, and said that she had been told that she was a WADE, and her family came from that area.  She did not have any proof of her claim except what she had been told by the people that raised her. Personally, I wonder if she might have been one of John and Zella's daughter, and I am trying to obtain orphans records from Galveston, to see if I might find anything.
